Galen Marek was a Human male taken as a secret apprentice by Darth Vader from his father, a Jedi named Kento Marek, on Kashyyyk during the Great Jedi Purge. For years, the Dark Lord trained him, under the codename Starkiller, in dark side arts and to eliminate his enemies, including Jedi who survived Order 66. Marek was told that he would ultimately assist in overthrowing Vader's own Master, Darth Sidious, Emperor of the Galactic Empire. In reality, Vader and Palpatine only planned to use him to root out those who rebelled against the Empire. In 3 BBY, fifteen years after the commencement of Marek's training, he had begun his missions to hunt down the last remaining Jedi. After killing Shaak Ti on Felucia, he returned to the Executor, his Master's flagship, on which Darth Sidious appeared and ordered Vader to kill the apprentice. In apparent submission, Vader telekinetically hurled him through the viewing windows, into open space. Vader secretly recovered his body and had him "resurrected" six months later on the science vessel Empirical, during which time he was known as Subject Zeta. The Dark Lord convinced Starkiller that he had saved him from death against his Master's orders, and gave him a new assignment: to rally an alliance of rebels who would eventually destroy the Empire. After locating key figures, Marek and the rebels met on Corellia where they formed the Corellian Treaty, an accord that created the Alliance to Restore the Republic. However, Vader, along with Imperial forces, raided the meeting, captured the rebels, and revealed to Marek that he had only been used to rally the Empire's enemies. Marek tracked the Dark Lord and the Alliance leaders to the Death Star, a massive superweapon on which he dueled both Vader and Sidious. The former Sith apprentice sacrificed himself, allowing the rebels to escape. His sacrifice inspired them, and the Alliance, which the Dark Lords had created to root out the rebels, would ultimately prove to be their undoing.

Galen Marek was the son of Kento and Mallie, both Jedi and survivors of Order 66 who had traveled the galaxy in search of safe haven until they met the fiercely loyal Wookiees of Kashyyyk. While Galen was watched over by the Wookiees, whether he was born on Kashyyyk or born before his parents arrived there is not clear. His mother was killed while defending Kashyyyk from Trandoshan slavers, leaving her husband to raise Galen alone. As a consequence of her death, the Empire became aware of Kento's existence. Not long after the onset of the Great Jedi Purge, during an Imperial attack on Kashyyyk, Darth Vader landed on the planet in a shuttle on his own mission to hunt a rogue Jedi. He found Kento Marek, his Jedi objective, who met him with fierce resistance, though Vader proved stronger. As Vader was about to deal the finishing blow to Kento inside his hut, his lightsaber was pulled from his hand. He turned in defense, only to discover a young boy holding the blade, who Vader sensed had an incredible affinity for the Force. After the Dark Lord killed the boy's father, the Stormtrooper commander leading the assault arrived. Mistakenly thinking that the child intended to attack Vader with his own weapon, he directed his men to kill him. Vader quickly summoned his saber from the child's grasp and deflected their blasts, killing them so there would be no witnesses of the boy's existence. He then brought the young Galen with him off Kashyyyk and trained him to become his apprentice in secret.

In 137 ABY, Stryfe, aboard an Imperial Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer, personally oversaw and led the Imperial search for Jedi on the planet Ossus. Rumors had spread that surviving Jedi were hiding in the Jedi Academy on Ossus, and the Sith were determined to eradicate all Jedi. Stryfe sent Joker Squad of the 407th Stormtrooper Division to conduct a search of the surface, and the stormtroopers of the unit were terrified of failure, fearing punishment from Stryfe. The Jokers looked around Ossus keenly, but found nothing; the Yuuzhan Vong—there to protect Jedi artifacts—and the Jedi present at the Academy had gone into hiding. As the Imperials were about to call off the search, Darth Stryfe commanded them to continue, as he could sense a whisper in the Force that suggested the presence of Jedi. Ordered by Stryfe to continue looking for the Jedi, Sergeant Harkas, Anson Trask, and Private Orland, as well as one more stormtrooper, continued the search amongst the remains of the Jedi Academy. Trask and a fellow stormtrooper reported that the Temple was empty after the Jedi Knight Shado Vao used the Force to persuade them. However, Lord Stryfe ordered Imperial Navy Captain Meeshal to destroy the Temple, as he still felt the presence of the Jedi hiding on the planet. The Imperials proceeded to fire on the Academy, and succeeded in injuring Jedi Master K'Kruhk, who had been hiding within the Temple. Nevertheless, the Jedi were able to survive the attack, and unbeknownst to Stryfe, they eventually escaped to their secret refuge, the Hidden Temple, which had been ordered into creation by the Jedi High Council at the start of the Sith-Imperial War

The Sith Triumvirate was a loose alliance of what remained of Darth Revan's Sith Empire. It was solidified sometime after the Battle of Rakata Prime. This organization was made up of several, if not hundreds of Sith apprentices, Sith Masters and most importantly, Sith Assassins. It was responsible for the near complete destruction of the Jedi Order during the First Jedi Purge and the attack on Katarr.

Carnor Jax was a Royal Guard and aspiring Sith Lord who made a bid for the vacant Imperial throne. Jax was the second Sith apprentice to the self-proclaimed Dark Lady of the Sith, Lumiya, and served her after the deaths of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. Jax and Lumiya were responsible for the extermination of the last few remaining Prophets of the Dark Side on Bosthirda. After Palpatine returned in the form of several clone bodies, Carnor Jax succeeded in ensuring the demise of the last of Palpatine's clones, opening a path to the throne. Jax was also responsible for the destruction of the Royal Guard, and had all but one of them killed off in a surprise attack on the planet Yinchorr. The remaining member, Kir Kanos, became a fugitive, forcing Jax to concentrate his efforts on capturing the man. The chase led Jax to capturing the Rebel leader Mirith Sinn and subjecting her to torture. However, in an unfortunate series of events, the actions of Kanos helped Sinn to escape, and Jax and Kanos found themselves in a final showdown on Yinchorr. The following battle was evenly matched, but the unexpected prowess of Kanos threw off the balance and Jax was killed. Carnor Jax's death left Lumiya without a known apprentice for almost 30 years.

Darth Maladi was a Sith trained from birth in the New Sith Order, and could use a lightsaber properly. Maladi displayed considerable dexterity when her lightsaber skills were called into action; while dueling, she incorporated Force attacks in conjunction with her bladework, making her twice as formidable in battle. This was evidenced when she engaged the Twi'lek Jedi Shado Vao in personal combat on Had Abaddon, and attacked him simultaneously with Force lightning and her lightsaber. However, Vao was able to dissipate the lightning with his own weapon.

The death of Marka Ragnos in 5,000 BBY left the Sith Empire with a power vacuum, as several powerful Sith struggled to gain Ragnos's throne and become the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Among them was Kressh, who sought follow in the footsteps of Ragnos; he wanted to keep an iron-fisted rule over the Sith people, and to keep the Empire stable and prosperous. His main competitor, Naga Sadow, felt the opposite, proclaiming that the Sith Empire had grown stagnant, and wanted to expand the borders of the Empire, who controlled a hundred or so planets, including Kressh's fortress world Rhelg.[2] Though they were not the only candidates for the title of Dark Lord,[3] Sadow and Kressh were the strongest, and each hated each other with passion.[2] Kressh led the late Ragnos's funeral procession on the Sith mausoleum planet of Korriban, though his rival Sadow was absent. Midway through the funeral, however, Sadow arrived, to Kressh's great anger. He told Sadow that they would wait for no-one, and after placing Ragnos's sarcophagus into his tomb, Kressh and his loyal men barred Sadow from entering. Sadow was resilient though, and the two rivals engaged each other in a vicious sword duel, watched by supporters of each faction. Kressh claimed that Sadow was only interested in furthering his own means, while Kressh cared about the fate of the Empire.[

Darth Krayt, formerly Jedi Knight A'Sharad Hett, was the founder and leader of this new generation of Sith Lords. A witness to a galaxy deeply wounded by the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the Yuuzhan Vong War, A'Sharad came to believe that the galaxy was fractured and weak, and that a single will was needed to make it whole and strong again. Equipped with knowledge gained from Sith holocrons found on the ancient Sith burial world of Korriban and renaming himself Darth Krayt after the fierce creature of his homeworld, he reestablished the order under his leadership and pledged to reunify the galaxy according to the will of the Sith. Krayt believed that the Sith needed to grow in strength over the decades, while the Jedi Order would become increasingly weakened and compromised by their lack of ruthlessness. When the balance of power had shifted sufficiently, the Sith would strike. Krayt's Order was founded before 30 ABY. Its agents, including Lomi Plo and Welk, were active during the Yuuzhan Vong War, and by 40 ABY, they numbered more than thirty. In 41 ABY with Darth Caedus's death at the end of the Second Galactic Civil War and with his apprentice redeemed, Lumiya's Sith, the last surviving remmant of the Order of the Sith Lords had perished, along with the Rule of Two. This was another presumed extinction of the Sith Order, little knowing that the One Sith were hiding on Korriban 11 years earlier.

Vos played a major part in the Clone Wars when he infiltrated Count Dooku's inner circle under strict orders from Tholme and part of the Jedi Council. He provided valuable information to the Jedi and the Republic. While undercover, he was forced to do things that would convince most of the Jedi he had joined the CIS, such as betraying Republic information at the Battle of Brentaal IV.

Freedon Nadd was a Human male who served as a Dark Lord of the Sith during the days of the Galactic Republic. Beginning his career as a Jedi student training on the planet of Ossus, Nadd would ultimately fall to the dark side and leave the Jedi Order. Following his departure from Ossus, Nadd made his way to the heart of the old Sith Empire, and there gained an enormous wealth of dark side knowledge. He would eventually follow the Force to the jungle moon of Yavin 4, where he would apprentice himself to the ancient Sith spirit of Naga Sadow. The specter of Sadow trained Nadd in the ways of the Sith, and led the young Jedi even further down the dark path. Eventually believing that he had learned all he could from Sadow, Nadd used his newfound powers to destroy his mentor's ghost, and left behind the temples of Yavin 4. Proclaiming himself to be the new Dark Lord of the Sith, Nadd traveled to the remote planet of Onderon, where he used his Sith powers to subjugate the world and make himself king. Nadd would rule Onderon from his fortress in Iziz until his physical death, several hundred years prior the events of the Old Sith Wars.

Karness Muur also created his own personal Sith amulet, one he imbued with tremendous dark side power, should the wielder have the strength to dominate it. Muur's talisman afforded him the power to transform those in his close proximity into mindless thralls for him to command. When the Talisman was found not to work on Force-sensitives or certain alien species, Muur further engineered the Rakghoul Plague, an infection which could be spread by those already under his thrall. With his army of rakghouls, Muur intended to use them to rule the galaxy. He also created the Codex of Karness Muur around this time, in which he illustrated the power of his beloved Talisman and its intentions for the Sith. Muur was not without rivals among his brethren, though. One such enemy was another Sith Lord named Dreypa who created an specialized stasis pod to capture and neutralize Muur and the power of his Talisman. However, Dreypa was never able to contain or capture Muur within his oubliette.

By the year 130 ABY, the One Sith or the New Sith Order had risen to take the place of Lumiya's Sith faction, itself the remnant of Darth Bane's Order. It is known that a Sith known as Darth Krayt began the order on Korriban, the ancient Sith burial world, at some point before 30 ABY. In this new Sith cult, many of the followers sported a red-and-black tattooed appearance and used lightsabers with a yorik coral-styled hilt design. This Sith Order was considered heretical by Darth Andeddu and Darth Bane.

Darth Kruhl was a male Sith Lord and assassin in the One Sith Order, being one of many to serve under Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt during his reign as Galactic Emperor. Kruhl was also the direct subordinate of Darth Maladi, acting as one of her operatives in the Sith Intelligence and Assassination department of Krayt's Empire. In 137 ABY, Darth Kruhl was sent to the world of Munto Codru, with instructions to capture the planet for Krayt's Sith Empire. He attempted to peacefully negotiate an agreement with the appointed spokesman of the planet's native Codru-Ji species, Rikkar-du. However, Rikkar-du was uninterested in Imperial domination, and attempted to unite the clans of Munto Codru in rebellion against Kruhl's plan to subjugate them. When Kruhl learned of Rikkar-du's plot, he returned to the planet and confronted the Codru-Ji spokesperson. The two engaged in combat, which resulted in Darth Kruhl slaying both Rikkar-du and his son, and then garnering the cooperation of another clan leader in Rikkar-du's place. Kruhl was later dispatched by Darth Maladi to the stronghold of the deposed Emperor Roan Fel on the world of Bastion, where he was tasked with assassinating him, to rid Darth Krayt of any further opposition to his rule. Kruhl infiltrated Fel's sanctuary where he attempted to take the exiled Emperor by surprise; however, Fel had been expecting one of Krayt's assassins, and the two engaged in a lightsaber duel. Kruhl was killed when Fel withdrew his concealed blaster pistol and shot the Sith Lord in the stomach. After Kruhl's death, Fel returned his lightsaber to Coruscant, to show the usurper Krayt that his assassination attempt had failed.

DARTH REAVE Lord of the Sith (132 ABY) Sith Lord in charge of Imperial Garrison planet Had Abbadon. He failed to repel Cade Skywalker's infiltration of the Imperial palace, and during the attack was infected with the rakghoul plague. He survived long enough to give his report to Darth Krayt, but was killed by Darth Stryfe when he succumbed to the plague.

The Quarren Sith Lord known as Darth Azard was a member of the One Sith, serving Darth Krayt and his Galactic Empire, after Krayt deposed Emperor Roan Fel at the end of the Sith-Imperial War. In the time of the Second Imperial Civil War, he was selected to oversee the Outer Rim Third Fleet. In 137 ABY, the Imperial Outer Rim Third Fleet had been charged with capturing the fugitive commander of the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet, Admiral Gar Stazi, as well as destroying the unified fragments of the Alliance military, dubbed the Galactic Alliance Remnant. Emperor Krayt had placed Kel Dor Admiral Sha Dun in charge of the mission, and despite minor victories he had failed to stop Gar Stazi's attacks. On the command deck of the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer Relentless, Lord Azard executed Admiral Dun for his failure, lifting and choking him with the Force, before cutting the admiral down with his double-bladed lightsaber. Azard then replaced Dun with the Humanocentric Admiral Dru Valan, who had already faced Stazi during the Battle of Caamas, the last major battle between the new Galactic Empire and the Galactic Alliance in the Sith-Imperial War, seven years previously. During the Battle of Caamas, Stazi had led a fighting retreat while the rest of the Alliance forces had surrendered, and Valan had been blamed for Stazi's escape. Azard told Valan not to underestimate Stazi as Sha Dun had, and warned the admiral not to fail him.

Old at the time of the conflict between the Sith-backed Fel Empire and the Galactic Alliance beginning 127 ABY—known as the Sith-Imperial War—the male Twi'lek Darth Ruyn was a Sith Lord and member of the One Sith Order under the direction of Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt. Ruyn trained Sith apprentices in the ways of dark side of the Force, the last of which was fellow Twi'lek Darth Talon. While teaching his apprentice, Ruyn would often take her to the Sith Art Chamber, within the Temple of the Sith on Coruscant, as he found it conducive to meditation. In 137 ABY, seven years after Krayt deposed Galactic Emperor Roan Fel and established his Sith Empire at the end of the Sith-Imperial War, Ruyn completed Talon's training and presented his apprentice to Krayt. The Dark Lord gave Talon one final test: to kill her Master, whom she respected and cared for. Talon carried out Krayt's order without hesitation, decapitating Ruyn with a sweep of her lightsaber. Having passed the test, Talon was given her Sith name and promoted to the position of Krayt's Hand—his own personal assassin. Talon would later reflect that had Ruyn not deemed her ready, he would have blocked her attack. Instead, he died so that she could touch the dark side and complete her training

Order 66 could be found in the document entitled Contingency Orders for the Grand Army of the Republic: Order Initiation, Orders 1 through 150, GAR Document CO(CL) 56-95, a document containing a series of special contingency orders that covered any and all emergency situations, which the clones that comprised the GAR were prepared to execute, immediately and without question, and only in specific cases of extreme necessity. Some of these orders concerned contingencies any armed force could conceivably face. Many dealt with contingencies specifically involving the GAR Supreme Commander — in this case, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine — and the effect on the chain of command were he ever to become incapacitated or declared unfit to issue orders. Sufficiently buried among the other one hundred forty-nine orders so as to almost escape notice, Contingency Order 66 specifically dealt with the effect on the chain of command were issues to arise involving the Jedi. The exact text of the order ran: Order 66: In the event of Jedi officers acting against the interests of the Republic, and after receiving specific orders verified as coming directly from the Supreme Commander (Chancellor), GAR commanders will remove those officers by lethal force, and command of the GAR will revert to the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) until a new command structure is established.

Over the next fifty years, Vergere lived with the Yuuzhan Vong, teaching them about the Republic and the Jedi while secretly building up a collection of information about the extragalactic aliens themselves. Vergere was able to avoid having her Jedi powers detected by the Force-sensing Yuuzhan Vong war coordinators, the yammosks, by learning to "make herself small". Vergere would shrink her presence in the Force to a microscopic size, where she was almost undetectable. In this state she could also modify tiny things like molecules. Vergere became a familiar of Yuuzhan Vong Priestess Falung, and later of the Priestess Elan. She also destroyed her lightsaber, hiding her affiliation with the Jedi Order. At some point, she also met another Priestess of the Deception sect known as Ngaaluh. During that time the two talked and debated with the outcome resulting in the Priestess having doubt about Yuuzhan Vong society as well as Supreme Overlord Shimrra. This would shape her actions during the time of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy.

Darth Andeddu

Darth Andeddu was an ancient humanoid male Dark Lord of the Sith who was dubiously thought of as the forebear of the "Darth" title. In life, Andeddu was a paranoid man who believed that his fellow Sith Lords—whom he regarded as his enemies—wanted to claim his vast collection of Sith lore and ritual for themselves. Thus, he stored his wisdom within a holocron and escaped the Sith graveworld of Korriban, returning to a personal stronghold on his homeworld of Prakith. He then entombed himself in an attempt to deprive his pursuers of the power they sought to steal; despite this, his mind lived on, retaining the ability to exert control over the flesh in which it once resided. A Sith cult founded by Lord Andeddu called the Malevolence maintained residence in his Keep and guarded the fortress for generations in anticipation of their Dark Lord's return. The legend of Darth Andeddu and his unnatural talents remained at large long after his death. His holocron survived as well—the wisdom within having been first discovered by the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus in 21 BBY and then recovered by Darth Krayt and his One Sith Order more than a century later. Krayt, who suffered from a Yuuzhan Vong slave seed infestation that threatened to leave him bereft of sentience, allowed his lieutenant Darth Wyyrlok III to access Andeddu's holocron in search of possible solutions. The device led the Chagrian Sith on a journey to Andeddu's Keep on Prakith, where he encountered and defeated the Malevolence cultists, but in doing so, revived the ancient body of Darth Andeddu. The Dark Lord then dueled Wyyrlok on a battlefield of the mind, a contest which ultimately resulted in Andeddu's demise. His corpse was resealed within the tomb that had housed it for countless millennia, and his collection of Sith doctrines was pillaged by Wyyrlok, who hoped to obtain a viable means of ending Darth Krayt's plight.

Darth Maleval was a male Quarren Sith Lord of the One Sith, serving under Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt and his Empire, after Krayt deposed Galactic Emperor Roan Fel. By 137 ABY, many units, such as the 908th Stormtrooper Division, had defected to Emperor-in-exile Fel during the Second Imperial Civil War. To ensure the loyalty of Krayt's troops, Maleval was given command of the 407th Stormtrooper Division, which was based on the planet Yinchorr, as they attempted to recapture the base of the 908th on Borosk. When the Battle of Borosk broke out, Maleval led the 407th division in recapturing the base and ensuring the complete destruction of the 908th down to the last man. After the battle, Maleval ordered Lieutenant Gil Cassel of the 407th to kill his brother, Captain Jared Cassel of the 908th, who had defected to Fel. Maleval killed both Cassel brothers when Gil refused, causing trooper Hondo Karr, of the 407th's Joker Squad, to attack Maleval. Before he could execute Karr, Maleval was shot and killed from behind by another trooper, Anson Trask. The surviving members of Joker Squad covered up the event in the report to their superiors, stating that Maleval had been killed in battle, and that Karr was vaporized in an explosion, allowing Karr to leave the Empire and later join the unified fragments of the Galactic Alliance military, the Galactic Alliance Remnant.

Darth Nihl was a Nagai male Sith Lord serving in Darth Krayt's Sith Empire during the Sith-Imperial War and the Second Imperial Civil War. A former Nagai warlord, Nihl had been recruited into the One Sith by Darth Krayt, and was initially made into his Fist, or military leader. However, this changed when Krayt's Hand, or enforcer, died, and Nihl was promoted to the position in 130 ABY as a result. One of Nihl's first missions was leading the assault on the Jedi Praxeum at Ossus, in which he killed Jedi Master Kol Skywalker and mortally wounded the Zabrak Master Wolf Sazen. Nihl returned to Coruscant and participated in Krayt's ascension to Galactic Emperor, in which the former Emperor of the Fel Empire, Roan Fel, was thought to be slain, although he actually survived. Over the next seven years, Nihl acted as Krayt's top enforcer over the galaxy, until the Dark Lord promoted another, Darth Talon, to also serve in the position of Hand. Talon was sent to capture Fel's daughter, Marasiah, and Nihl was sent to reinforce her during the confrontation on Vendaxa between the Sith, Fel, Imperial Knights, and the Jedi who aided them. Skywalker's son, the bounty hunter Cade was among those who aided Fel, and confronted Nihl during the battle on Vendaxa, hoping to kill the Sith Lord for revenge over his father's death. Though Nihl did not defeat Skywalker, he later captured the bounty hunter when Skywalker infiltrated the Temple of the Sith to rescue the Bothan Jedi Knight Hosk Trey'lis. While Krayt attempted to turn Skywalker to the dark side of the Force, Nihl expressed doubts with Krayt's decisions, especially his obsession over Skywalker. Skywalker subsequently escaped, and the Emperor's Hand was sent to defeat him in combat. Nihl was bested in a duel, and had his right arm chopped off while Skywalker escaped. As a result, he was stripped of his title of Hand for his failure to defeat Skywalker and was put under Maladi's charge so that she could perform experiments on him using Yuuzhan Vong biots.

XoXaan was a humanoid female member of the Jedi Order during the Old Republic era. She was aligned to a group of Jedi, including Karness Muur, who became corrupted by the dark side of the Force and embittered with the Order itself. This caused a rift between these Dark Jedi and those who still followed the light side. The result was a war that spanned one hundred years, which culminated with the Dark Jedi's defeat on the Outer Rim planet Corbos. XoXaan and her contemporaries were exiled from the Jedi Order and banished from the Galactic Republic into deep space, left by the Jedi to contemplate the error of their ways. XoXaan and the other Dark Jedi traveled aimlessly through space until, in 6,900 BBY, they arrived on the Outer Rim world of Korriban. XoXaan and her brethren introduced themselves to the native Sith people, who revered the Dark Jedi as gods and worshiped the power that they wielded. Along with her colleagues, XoXaan took up the mantle of Sith Lord and began the creation of a Sith-dominated empire. As XoXaan progressed further in the ways of the Sith, she developed a talent for healing through the dark side of the Force, and was renowned amongst her fellow Sith Lords for it. At some point XoXaan passed away, but not before recording much of her knowledge within a Sith holocron. She was laid to rest within Korriban's Valley of the Dark Lords in her own mausoleum, along with her holocron. Adas was King of Korriban and the Sith in a reign that lasted nearly three hundred years. He was large for his species, his skin was unusually charcoal-colored, and he was raised as a chosen being from his youth. Encasing himself in ebon armor, he wielded a massive battle-ax, and became a master of Sith magic. Circa 28,000 BBY, Adas united the disparate nations of Korriban in a series of bloody conflicts, eventually solidifying himself as the sole leader of his people. The Sith hailed Adas as the Sith'ari, or "Overlord." The commonly held belief was that he was invincible, and that his reign would be eternal. Circa 27,700 BBY, Rakatans from the Infinite Empire arrived on Korriban, and taught Adas how to harness the technology of holocrons. Adas created one of these devices, but soon realized that the new arrivals were attempting to conquer Korriban. He took his battle-ax to the aliens, and with his people at his side, drove them off. In doing so, he lost his life. Adas's influence, however, would continue for many years following his death. His holocron, lost on Ashas Ree during the Great Hyperspace War, would later be found by fallen Jedi Knight Freedon Nadd, who used Adas's teachings to subjugate and rule Onderon. When that planet cast off the yoke of Sith oppression in 4,000 BBY, the Jedi attempted to hide the holocron, so that it would not fall into the wrong hands. For nearly four thousand years it remained safely hidden on Kodai, but was retrieved in the years prior to the Clone Wars. Murder was committed several times in attempts to gain control of the holocron, and it was eventually returned to Korriban while in the possession of Dark Lady of the Sith Lumiya.

Karness Muur was one of the Dark Jedi during the Hundred-Year Darkness, alongside XoXaan and Ajunta Pall. He was one of the creators of creatures such as Leviathans as well. Muur fought in the Battle of Corbos and was amongst the surrendering survivors. Alongside Pall and XoXaan, Muur was exiled from the Republic and arrived on the planet Korriban with his fellow Dark Jedi. At the time he encountered Korriban's native species carried a yellow-bladed protosaber, which he brandished in their presence as a display of his superior power. Muur and his fellow Dark Jedi recognized the potent and untapped Force-sensitivity of the Sith race, and immediately sought to enslave them through the dark side of the Force. After conquering the Sith species, Muur like his fellows anointed themselves as Lords of the Sith, and were the very first to don the honorific.

Korriban was the sole planet in the Horuset system, located across the galaxy from Koros Major. It was the original homeworld of the Sith species and a sacred planet for the Sith Order, housing the tombs for many ancient and powerful Dark Lords of the Sith, and containing tremendous dark side power. After the Hundred Year Darkness, the remaining Dark Jedi interbred with the Sith species and ruled the Sith using their Force powers. After the Great Hyperspace War, Korriban was abandoned and became a barren world. It was the site of two Sith Academies, and became the headquarters of the One Sith. This remote, forbidding planet was the original homeworld of the Sith species. The Rakata invaded Korriban in an attempt to integrate the world into the Infinite Empire, intending to harvest slaves from the planet to be used for Rakatan projects, such as the Star Forge (30,000 BBY). The sole artifact to survive this era was the ancient Star Map, around which the tomb of Naga Sadow was later built. The Rakata were eventually forced off the world after the Sith King Adas led his people against them. Adas died in the battle, and thus, despite this victory, the Sith society crumbled, and, in the ensuing centuries of strife, the Sith relocated to Ziost, leaving Korriban as a graveyard world. The Sith Empire was founded in approximately 6,900 BBY by exiled fallen Jedi fleeing the Battle of Corbos, which concluded the Hundred-Year Darkness. The fallen Jedi landed on Korriban. Using their training in the Force, the fallen Jedi amazed the Sith and elevated themselves to god-like status on Korriban, becoming the rulers of the Sith people. As years passed, and interbreeding occurred between the Fallen Jedi and the Sith, the term "Sith" came to mean not only the original inhabitants of Korriban, but also their fallen Jedi masters. Until the rise of Naga Sadow, the existence of the Sith Empire was unknown to the Galactic Republic.

The formation of the Sith Empire occured in circa 28,000 BBY on the world of Korriban following the defeat of the Rakata invaders at the hands of King Adas. His leadership led to all of Korriban being united under his rule and led to his appointment as Sith'ari or Overlord of the Sith. Using the remains of the enemy craft, the once primitive Sith were propelled into the space age and were armed with the power of the dark side of the Force. Using these newly acquired traits from the Infinite Empire, the newly formed Sith Empire conquered other nearby worlds which became part of Sith Space with their capital being relocated from ancient Korriban to the neighboring world of Ziost. The reign of this empire was short lived, however, as it dissolved into civil war after the death of King Adas leaving his people regressing into a more primitive state.

The Sith, also known as the Red Sith during the time of the Old Sith Empire, were a Force-sensitive species of red-skinned humanoids native to Ziost and Korriban that were enslaved by exiled Dark Jedi. The Sith were a Force-sensitive species of red-skinned humanoids with tentacle "beards" that evolved on Korriban. Pure blooded Sith were almost always left-handed, and thus their signature weapon, the lanvarok, was adapted purely for left-handed use. The Sith also only had four fingers/digits on each hand (with the exception of the Slave class/species which only had three) and three toes on each foot. Sith society lasted as such for hundreds of millennia—from roughly 130,000 BBY to 7,000 BBY. Except for the brief unification of their species under King Adas, Sith society was fragmented, with many individual Sith Lords ruling independent fiefdoms, most of them attempting to claim Adas's title of Sith'ari and unite their kind. The Sith species originated on the planet Korriban. Circa 28,000 BBY, Adas, marked as a chosen one from a young age by his unusual black skin, united the nations of Korriban and Ziost in violent warfare. He took the title of Sith'ari, meaning "overlord", and was seen by his people as an immortal being who would rule forever. Eventually the Rakata arrived on Korriban. Pretending to ally themselves with Adas at first and giving him the technology of holocrons, they soon revealed their intentions and attempted to conquer the Sith. Adas and the Sith fought back and, after a series of bloody battles, drove off the superior forces of the Infinite Empire, with the king giving his life in the process. Without Adas's strong hand, Korriban soon collapsed into civil war, with many claiming themselves Sith'ari. The massive infighting eventually forced the Sith to relocate their capital to nearby Ziost.

During the fight, Krayt was stabbed in the right chest by Azlyn Rae, electrocuted and Force-pushed off of the cliff by Morne/Muur, and seemingly fell to his doom. At the bottom of the cliff, Darth Wyyrlok, having landed his shuttle nearby, approached the Emperor's body, declaring that he would be taken to the tomb of the Sith on Korriban. To his surprise, Krayt woke, having cushioned his fall with the Force. He asked Wyyrlok to take him to a bacta tank in order to regain his strength, but the Chagrian Sith Lord electrocuted his master in response, killing him. He then placed Krayt's corpse in a stasis chamber within the Sith Temple of Korriban, hiding the truth from the other Sith while planning on inducting all beings the galaxy into the ranks of the One Sith, as Krayt had always intended.

When traveling on Nal Hutta, Na'daz discovered Kas'im, a young Twi'lek slave who was strong in the Force. Na'daz bought the boy and journeyed with him to Ryloth, where he trained him as a Sith. In 1,010 BBY, his apprentice challenged Na'daz to a duel. Kas'im had grown stronger in the Force than his Master, and slew him. Kas'im then took his master's lightsaber, which had a curved hilt, as a trophy. Kas'im later went on to become the greatest lightsaber duelist of his time, training many Sith at the Sith Academy on Korriban. Kas'im eventually gave Na'daz's lightsaber to his greatest student: Bane after training him to defeat his rival apprentice in the Academy, Sirak. Na'daz was a skilled lightsaber duelist, a trait he imbued in his apprentice. He was a master of both the single- and Double-bladed lightsaber, utilizing the former and training Kas'im in the latter. It is unknown whether Na'daz was familiar with Jar'Kai, a technique Kas'im became highly proficient at, and so is unknown whether he taught this method to his apprentice or whether Kas'im learned this from another teacher.

Before she became a Sith Lord, she was considered to be a Dark Side marauder. She crafted a suit of heavy battle armor that was imbued with dark side powers, which granted her invisibility and boosted her physical strength. The armor was reportedly worth 37,000 credits. Belia Darzu also used nanogene technology to create an army of Technobeasts which she controlled with mechu-deru, an ancient form of Sith Alchemy that infused mechanical objects with dark side energy. This power was believed to have been lost by the era of the New Jedi Order, but Roganda Ismaren discovered several ancient scrolls which documented its usage. Darzu did all her research from a black durasteel twin-towered citadel on Tython, defended by several ion cannons. Deep inside were laboratories, containing specimens and Darzu's notes. Further in, near the centre was a long room containing Darzu's holocron on a pedestal. Darzu was killed on Tython when she was poisoned by the Mecrosa Order at the behest of her fellow Sith Lords. Darth Bane would later travel to Tython during 990 BBY to access information from Darzu's holocron on how to construct his own Holocron. After her death, her army of Technobeasts slowly retreated into the Holocron room, where Darzu's last vestiges of power lay. Her citadel was the site of a fierce battle between a group of Jedi and Darth Bane and Darth Zannah which was won by the Sith.

Baras was a Sith Lord of the resurgent Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War waged between the Empire and the Galactic Republic. He served the Empire as ambassador to Alderaan during the peace talks at the close of the war. He was instrumental in the Treaty of Coruscant and later returned to Korriban to report his success on Alderaan to the Sith Emperor's Dark Council. Baras was one of the individuals who represented the Sith Empire in peace talks with the Galactic Republic on Alderaan. After the beginning of the Sacking of Coruscant, he was greeted by the Jedi Knight Satele Shan who engaged him him in combat. During the duel, Baras explained that the Jedi would be forced to accept peace quickly on the Sith's terms. Satele would stand down from the duel upon the request of her master Dar'nala. After the treaty was signed, Baras returned to Korriban and met with the rest of the Dark Council in the academy. The Council congratulated him on the success of the negotiations, saying they were thinking of giving him more power. Baras said he had everything he wanted, and would have to decline any offer for more power. Later, he was attacked by Lord Angral, who had led the attack on Coruscant. Angral said if Baras had held the negotiations out longer, he could have killed all the Jedi on the planet. Baras countered by saying he was attacked because of Angral's murder of the Supreme Chancellor, and that he had simply followed the Emperor's orders. Angral said that next time he had the chance to destroy the Jedi and Republic he'd do it no matter what. Baras said Angral would never get that chance again.

Lord Angral was in command of the fleet that sacked Coruscant in 3,653 BBY. After destroying Orbital Security Station Six, he landed on the surface near the Galactic Senate Building, where he was greeted by Jedi Master Orgus Din, who engaged him in combat. Angral quickly took the upper hand but Din escaped with his life after the duel was interrupted by a crashing Sith spacecraft. Angral then stormed the Senate and attacked the Chancellor. His attack forced the Republic diplomats on Alderaan to submit to the Sith's demands, and the Treaty of Coruscant was signed. Angral returned to Korriban after the treaty's signing. Angral was furious with Baras, the Dark Council's emmisary who had represented the Sith at the peace talks. Angral reasoned that if Baras hadn't ended the negotiations so quickly, he could've destroyed all the Jedi on Coruscant. Baras responded by saying he was following their emperor's orders, and blasted Angral with Force Lightning, forcing him into submission. Angral said he wouldn't hesitate the next time he had a chance to destroy the Jedi and Republic, regardless of orders. Baras simply told him he'd never get another chance to do so. After his confrontation with Baras, Angral traveled to a business meeting in the Star Cluster Casino on Nar Shaddaa to make an offer.

Desolous was born nearly 3,500 years before the Clone Wars. His lust for battle led him to the dark side and in search of Sith teachings. He was expelled from the Jedi Order, took on his Sith name and vowed to have his revenge. After returning to his homeworld of Utapau, Desolous began training an army of Pau'ans in his own style, using cortosis alloy shields and melee weapons. He eventually rallied his army against the Jedi, ambushing Jedi Knights across the galaxy, leading to the slaughter of nearly two thousand Jedi. With each victory, he grew more reckless and bold, his hatred against the Jedi eclipsing all his other emotions. He was lured into a trap at Yaga Minor, his army engaging a small force of Jedi Knights. A large Jedi fleet emerged from hyperspace, preventing his retreat, and, outnumbered and outmatched, Desolous' army was destroyed and the Sith himself killed by, as he claims, the entire Jedi Council. After this, Vergere made contact with Lumiya, the self-proclaimed Dark Lady of the Sith since the death of Sidious, and trained her in the ways of the Sith. The events of this period are unclear, with two accounts being provided, one from Lumiya and the other from her rivals, the followers of the New Sith Order.According to Lumiya, she and Vergere discussed possibilities for creating a new Sith Lord, dismissing Luke Skywalker as being too dogmatic, Leia Organa Solo as being too afraid of her father, Jaina Solo too emotional, Mara Jade too attached, and Kyp Durron as too unpredictable and stubborn. They finally settled on Jacen Solo.The New Sith Order agreed that Lumiya and Vergere decided to make Jacen into a Sith Lord at this point, but they claim that this was a deliberate rejection of the One Sith plan, a plan which both of them were aware of. According to their version, the initiative in this came from Lumiya, who argued to Vergere that One Sith's long-term plan would be undermined by the rising power of Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order.Lumiya had been invited to join One Sith on Korriban, and had apparently been en route when she was cut off by the rapid Yuuzhan Vong advance, but her emphasis on the Rule of Two may suggest that her opposition to the rival group also had an ideological aspect. She did not follow up on their subsequent invitation to join them, and she did not mention the existence of the organization to Jacen. Although she intimated to Alema Rar in 40 ABY that her plan for Jacen could survive without her, she seemed to have privately considered herself very much alone in her project.In all this, Vergere's true intentions are hidden behind the agendas of the other participants. All that is known is that she made contact with Lumiya, who seems to have been ideologically opposed to the new Sith Order on Korriban, and she subsequently chose to re-train Jacen in opposition to their plans.

Born on Coruscant, Shira Elan Colla Brie was raised on an estate belonging to Palpatine, and as a teenager lived in the Imperial Palace as part of COMPNOR's adolescent indoctrination program. Shira came to learn and accept the Galactic Empire's New Order doctrine. Shira began her service to the Galactic Empire as a pilot trainee at the Coruscanti Pilot Institute, where she became friends with fellow Cadet Myrette Davani (though Davani's mother thought Shira was "a snob"). Six months after the Battle of Yavin, during her final year, Shira transferred to the Academy of Carida to complete her training. There, Davani was her roommate and underwent much of the same training In addition to her field and pilot training, Brie came under the Force tutelage of Darth Vader, who had placed her in accelerated training for Imperial Intelligence after first sensing her Force potential. She was also trained in numerous forms of combat, including Echani and Noghri Stava. In addition, Shira underwent numerous biological alterations to her body's defenses, giving her accelerated healing and a high pain threshold. While at the Academy, Shira got her first taste of destruction and was given free reign to test her budding powers. An example of this was the incident where, while testing MT-STs, her walker was equipped with actual lasers as opposed to training ones; Brie ended up killing six students and destroying a dozen of the MT-STs, and was never as much as investigated by the Academy staff. In another incident, recounted in one of Myrette Davani's personal letters, the two cadets spent a night on the town to celebrate their impending graduation. Davani claimed that when a Caridan asked to buy them a drink, Shira turned him down and caused the man to fall unconscious without touching him.

Following a short discussion with Jacen on Ziost, Lumiya made plans to admit to Luke Skywalker that she had killed his wife, in order to buy Jacen enough time to complete his destiny and shift attention away from his involvement in the murder. After a short dogfight above Terephon, Lumiya was forced down by her former flame. The two left their respective craft and faced each other on a mesa overlooking a Hapan city. Lumiya professed her murder of Mara, citing the oath she had sworn to the Emperor so long ago as the reason for her actions. Luke came at her, with only his lightsaber. It is unclear as to whether Lumiya took her willingness to die so far as to not fight to her full and dangerous ability. Regardless, the duel was brief; Skywalker had soon forced her back to the edge of the plateau, and her signature lightwhip tumbled off the precipice. As she herself fell, Luke took her hand, straining with all his might to lift her back onto solid ground. **"I'd never let you fall."** She replied **"Oaths matter, Luke. Following Nadd's death, his body was entombed below the royal palace of Iziz, where his dark side spirit continued to live on, teaching the descendants of his bloodline. Approximately three hundred years after his death, Nadd's spirit was confronted by Jedi Master Arca Jeth and his three apprentices near the end of the Beast Wars. Following this confrontation, Nadd's tomb was stolen by a Sith cult known as the Naddists, who revered Freedon Nadd and his use of Sith magic. Though Nadd devised a plan to corrupt Arca Jeth, it ultimately failed, and Master Jeth oversaw the internment of Nadd's remains on the jungle moon of Dxun. Eventually, Nadd's spirit was contacted by the fallen Jedi Exar Kun, who wished to learn from Nadd the ways of the Sith. Under the guidance of Nadd's spirit, Kun was corrupted and twisted into seeking an even deeper understanding of the Sith. Eventually, Kun grew tired of what he perceived as Nadd's games, and used his newly acquired powers to vanquish the spirit of Freedon Nadd forever.

On the jungle moon, Kun sensed he would not survive the Republic's coming attack. Thus, he drew upon the riskiest sections of Sith alchemy with his alchemical apparatus and drained the life-force of almost the entire Massassi race, transcending his own mortal body which was destroyed in the process along with the rest of the surface of Yavin 4. However, Nomi Sunrider realized somehow what Kun was attempting and caused the Jedi to erect a 'Wall of Light' with the Force around the moon, keeping Exar Kun's spirit from fleeing the planet and instead chaining him there for all eternity.[14] He remained largely dormant inside a massive, black obsidian tomb, and was even forgotten as the centuries passed and he grew bitter. Not even his former apprentice Ulic Qel-Droma could sense Kun's spirit within the ancient ruin when he visited some time later, and so it would remain for millennia.

Sith amulets could grant the wielder the ability to read and understand ancient Sith text, which was how Satal Keto learned to read the Sith magic book he stole.[1] In combat, Sith amulets were capable of channelling dark side power into beams of lethal energy to be blasted outwards from the wielder's hand.[2] The Sith amulet of Lord Rin Shuuir could be used to heal grave wounds.[3] Sith amulets could generate images like a holoprojector; Gav Daragon once used an amulet given to him by Dark Lord Naga Sadow to record a message with Force-projected images for his sister Jori,[4] and Exar Kun applied this ability to show his group of Jedi defectors a Force-projected image of how Kun destroyed Freedon Nadd.[5] An amulet belonging to the Dark Lord Kaan ended up being integrated into the glove of the later Dark Lord Darth Vader. The Amulet of Kalara was another Sith amulet, found by Jedi Knight Ben Skywalker, whose powers and abilities were unknown.

Revan was a Jedi Knight and General during the Mandalorian Wars. A Human male once known by the nickname the Revanchist, he was both a charismatic and enigmatic leader, a renowned tactician and expert strategist, and a hero of the Galactic Republic during the Mandalorian Wars, leading the Republic fleets to victory after victory. Ending the conflict personally, with the execution of Mandalore the Ultimate and the destruction of Malachor V, Revan led the remains of the Republic fleet deep into the Unknown Regions to hunt down the remaining Mandalorians. He returned however, as Darth Revan, the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Darth Rivan was a Zelosian male who was a Sith Lord during the time of the New Sith Wars, having taken his Sith name from a corrupted Sith manuscript which identified Darth Revan, the Dark Lord of the Sith who was redeemed during the Jedi Civil War, as "Rivan." Darth Rivan was known for being the wielder of the powerful artifact known as the Darkstaff, a semi-sentient weapon capable of draining Force-essence from a living being. Rivan is chronologically the last known Darth before Darth Bane. Initially, Bane was believed to be the inventor of the title, as at that point, no earlier Sith Lords used it. It was later revealed that the title "Darth" originates in the Mandalorian Wars, or even earlier.

After Malak betrayed his Master Revan during an ambush by the Jedi and Republic forces attempting to capture them, Bandon became Malak's first Shadow Hand, elevating him to the second-in-command in the Sith Empire. In 3,956 BBY, when the Sith attacked the Republic warship Endar Spire above the planet Taris, Bandon boarded the ship with the Sith troopers and Dark Jedi under his command, and tried to capture the Jedi Knight Bastila Shan. He killed the Republic ensign Trask Ulgo, who sacrificed himself to save the amnesiac former Sith Lord Revan, who had survived Malak's betrayal. Sometime after Taris' destruction, Malak dispatched Bandon to find and capture Shan—who managed to escape Taris with Revan and his companion's help—after the bounty hunter Calo Nord, who was hired by Malak to capture Shan, was slain by Revan. Bandon tracked down and confronted Revan, now a retrained Jedi in search of the Star Forge—an ancient Rakatan space station under Malak's control. Bandon underestimated the former Dark Lord and his companions, assuming that they would be no match for him. This proved to be his downfall, as Revan and his team vanquished Malak's apprentice, along with the Dark Jedi accompanying him.

After the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, Darth Bane, the only surviving Sith Lord, started to reform the Sith in order to ensure their continued survival. To guard against the Sith destroying themselves or losing sight of their "ideals" once again, Bane took only one apprentice, restarting the tradition of one master, one apprentice and of passing the title "Darth" to each of his successors. Perhaps in a nod to Kaan's earlier pronouncement, both master and apprentice in Bane's Sith Order held the title "Dark Lord of the Sith", making them, nominally at least, equals. The new tenets of the sinister order would become cunning, stealth, subterfuge and most of all, a virtue borrowed from their worst enemy, patience. Eventually, Bane inducted his new apprentice, giving her the name Darth Zannah, and set his new order in motion.

In the face of such adversity, Dessel was often forced to fend for himself. He learned to ignore the constant jibes, threats, and insults directed against him by his father and the other miners, and grew into a strong young man as he worked deep in the cortosis mines. Even at this age, he felt the calls of the Force and its dark side, and after one last and particularly brutal beating at the hands of his father, Dessel used its power to kill him unknowingly, envisioning a giant hand squeezing his father's dark heart, literally willing him to die. He would not understand the part he had played in Hurst's demise until many years later when he discovered that it had been his use of the Force which had allowed him to kill his father.[1] After Hurst's death, his friends tried to continue with their harassment of Dessel, but the young miner now had the confidence to stand up for himself, and after he handed out dozens of beatings to them in the span of a month, going so far as breaking one man's jaw, his father's old friends decided that it would be better if they just left Dessel alone.

Marr found the center of the phenomenon she sought: a former Jedi, exiled by the Order before Nihilus's rise to power, who had returned to known space. She ambushed and challenged the exiled Jedi, who defeated Marr. Impressed by the Exile's abilities and the destiny that she perceived about her, Marr allowed herself to be swayed to the light. Forsaking her master, Nihilus, she became an informal apprentice to the Exile, teaching the elder ex-Jedi about the power of her Force-sensitive species. The Miraluka traveled with the Exile and aided in her endeavor to save the Jedi Order by locating those Jedi Masters who had been absent from the convocation. Later that year, Marr played an instrumental part in resolving the Battle of Telos IV, in which she met her former master in battle, and triumphed. In the process, she overcame the remaining shadows of her past, coming to terms with the destruction of her people. Soon afterward, the Exile confronted and defeated the two surviving members of the Triumvirate, Darth Traya and Darth Sion, at Malachor V, ending the Sith's program to eradicate the Jedi. Shortly before her death at the hands of the Exile, Darth Traya prophesied of Marr's return to Katarr and her pivotal role in rebuilding the Jedi Order.

Visas Marr was a Miraluka female from the Mid Rim world of Katarr who lived during the time of the Jedi Civil War and the period of unrest that followed in its wake. In 3,952 BBY, Katarr had been chosen to host a secret Jedi conclave, which consequently drew the attention of the Sith. Darth Nihilus, one of the leaders of the Sith Triumvirate, brought devastation to the world, as well as the Jedi Order. He consumed all organic life on the planet, yet left Marr alive, albeit with damaged vision. She was taken aboard his flagship, the Ravager, and after she was made his apprentice, a Force bond was forged between the two. Afterward a servant of the dark side of the Force, she traveled with Nihilus beyond the Outer Rim. In 3,951 BBY, Marr was dispatched into the galaxy to seek out a growing presence in the Force and bring its cause before Nihilus.

As Naga Sadow grew, he was trained by the Sith Lord Simus, one-time rival of Marka Ragnos. Sadow would develop his own rivalry with fellow Sith Lord Ludo Kressh, leading to severe confrontations between the two several times. After the death of Marka Ragnos, the two Sith Lords emerged as favorites to succeed him as Dark Lord. During the funeral of Ragnos on Korriban, Sadow and Kressh engaged in a duel of Sith swords, after a disagreement as to who would better serve the Empire as Dark Lord. They were interrupted by the spirit of Marka Ragnos, who told of a great past and an uncertain future for the Sith Empire, encouraging the Sith to band together However, the unexpected arrival of two Hyperspace-traveling siblings on Korriban, Gav and Jori Daragon, immediately spurred Sadow's progressive nature. Seeing them as passports to an ideal opportunity for conquest of the Galactic Republic from which they originated, Sadow masterminded a plot that resulted in his ascendance to Dark Lord of the Sith, with many of the lesser Sith Lords swearing fealty to him—save Ludo Kressh and those loyal to him. Kressh in turn gathered his own followers, and made an attempt on Sadow's life, striking at his decoy-fortress on the planet of Khar Delba in error. Kressh's attack was thus fruitless, and his forces were defeated by those of Naga Sadow. Now the undisputed ruler of the Sith Empire, Sadow allowed one of the alien travelers, Jori, to return home in feigned earnest; he was in truth allowing the girl to unwittingly lead his forces directly to the Republic.

Darth Krayt, born A'Sharad Hett, was a Human male who served as a Jedi Knight in the waning days of the Galactic Republic. The son of legendary Jedi Knight Sharad Hett, he eventually became the Padawan of Jedi Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi, and later, An'ya Kuro. When he was only a teen, Sharad Hett was murdered by the Jedi assassin Aurra Sing, who was later defeated in a duel by a young A'Sharad Hett. During the Clone Wars he served the Republic as a General, and established himself as a charismatic leader who often led his troops from the front. He eventually became friends with the young Anakin Skywalker and helped Anakin come to terms with the destruction which had been wrought by the galaxy-wide war. A'Sharad took part in key conflicts during the war such as the Battle of Boz Pity and Mission to Saleucami. He managed to survive the Clone Wars, and was one of the few Jedi known to have escaped the Great Jedi Purge in 19 BBY.

The Star Forge was a giant automated shipyard, designed to create the most powerful army of all time, constructed by the Rakatan Infinite Empire in 30,000 BBY, five thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Republic. The Star Forge drew energy and matter from a nearby star which, when combined with the power of the Force, was capable of creating an endless supply of ships, droids, and other war matériel. The Rakata, also known as "The Builders," constructed the massive space station through the use of slaves from many subject worlds including, but not necessarily limited to, Corellia, Coruscant, Dantooine, Drall, Duro, Kashyyyk, Manaan, Selonia, Sleheyron, Tatooine, and Ziost. This technological marvel came at a terrible cost as the Rakata were by nature a cruel and savage species and the Star Forge began feeding off of these negative traits inherent in its creators. As a result the Star Forge became an immense tool of dark side power.

The Rakata rose to new heights when, in approximately 49,000 BBY, they successfully combined the power of the Force with advanced technology, creating wondrous effects that seemed, to them, to border on the mystical. Due to this achievement, they used their technology to explore space. However, when they found civilizations less advanced than themselves, they conquered and enslaved them rather than benevolently aid their advancement, thus turning to the dark side. The Infinite Empire, officially established in 35,000 BBY, dominated pockets of the galaxy for almost ten thousand years and enslaved numerous developing species including the Duros, Kumumgah, Selkath, and Humans. At its height, it consisted of more than 500 enslaved-subject worlds with a population of ten billion Rakata and one trillion slaves.

As was the case with all apparent products of Rakatan dark side energy engineering, the Star Forge managed to survive several tens of thousands of years idling and without an operational crew by relying on its built-in automated repair systems. This trait was replicated in certain artifacts, such as the Star Maps. The Rakatan Builders destroyed the Star Maps after the completion of the Star Forge, but these slowly repaired themselves with the Star Forge's technology. While the data in each one was incomplete by the time the reformed Revan discovered them, their combined information was enough to reveal the location of the Star Forge. As an artifact of the dark side, the Star Forge corrupted those who used it, feeding its desire for death. Ajunta Pall hinted that it may have been known to, and used by, the early Sith. After the Mandalorian Wars, it came into the service of Revan and Malak, who had been powerful and honorable Jedi Knights until discovering the Star Maps leading to the location of the ancient dark space station, thus resulting in the rebirth of the Sith.

The Force-based technology of the Rakata had profound consequences which led to the total collapse of the Infinite Empire. The Star Forge began feeding off its Rakatan masters' aggressive tendencies and created dark side energies that further corrupted its creators. After generations of galactic supremacy and control, the Infinite Empire began to fracture. Huge slave revolts erupted throughout the borders of the Empire along with various factions vying for control. This led to a civil war throughout Rakatan controlled space. Already weakened by warfare, the Rakata were suddenly struck by a deadly plague in 25,200 BBY (possibly created by one of the slave species) that spread rapidly through their ranks due to their self-crafted genetic uniformity. The virulent disease nearly exterminated the Rakata and brought the Infinite Empire to its knees, but the worst was yet to come. A mutation in the disease caused the Rakata to lose their connection and power in the Force. As the Force adepts were culled from the overall population, the Rakata lost their ability to manipulate their own advanced technology. The Rakatans were forced to adapt to using inferior technology. With their slave masters thus weakened, the slave populations of many enslaved worlds rebelled. The Infinite Empire began to collapse as member worlds such as Korriban began to expel their Rakatan masters. The all-but-decimated Rakata could do nothing but abandon their conquests and retreat to the safety of their homeworld Lehon.

Over many decades, the deranged former Sith Lord assembled a fanatical group known as the Cult of Darth Phobos. She sent her acolytes across the galaxy to recruit others, and also to assassinate powerful Jedi Masters and Sith Lords. Both Jedi and Sith alike recognized her a major threat to the galaxy, and grudgingly joined forces to stop her. She was eventually killed in a battle against Jedi and Sith warriors, but her cult remained active for a long time, finally disappearing around the time of the "Fourth Great Schism", almost two thousand years before the Clone Wars. The Sith called her "The Hidden Fear".

It would not be long until the new Dark Lord of the Sith was proven wrong about his former Master's death; the next year, he intercepted the Jedi Knight Bastila Shan and an amnesiac Revan, whose identity as the Dark Lord had been erased by the Jedi Council and replaced with an identity that was loyal to the Republic. After Malak revealed to his former Master that he was indeed the former Dark Lord, Malak and Revan fought each other, but Shan allowed herself to be captured by Malak so that Revan and his companions could escape. The Sith Lord corrupted Shan, whom he had once considered a threat. She eventually became his apprentice, replacing Darth Bandon, whom Revan and his companions had previously killed. Now assisted by her battle meditation, Malak considered his Sith Empire to be invincible. When the Republic fleet attacked the Star Forge above Rakata Prime, a redeemed Revan boarded the ancient space station and confronted Malak in a lightsaber duel which resulted in the Dark Lord's defeat. With that, his reign as the Dark Lord ended, and the Republic was victorious.

Talon was a third-generation Sith, raised and trained on the ancient Sith burial world of Korriban to serve as the second of Darth Krayt's two Hands, Darth Nihl being the other. The details of his century-long reign are few, although his death marked the end of the golden age of the Sith Empire, despite his reluctance to continue expansion. Immediately following his funeral, a schism erupted between the leaders of the Sith, and further events led to a major war with the Galactic Republic and ultimately, because the schism was never healed it spelled the end of their interstellar empire. His death resulted in the rise of another Sith Lord, Naga Sadow, shortly before the Great Hyperspace War. Ragnos lived on as a Force Ghost after his death, trapped within the confines of his tomb in the Valley of the Dark Lords on Korriban. About one millennium after his death, Marka's spirit was summoned from the grave using a pair of Sith talismans and crowned Exar Kun as the new Dark Lord, and Ulic Qel-Droma as Kun's apprentice, all in an attempt to restore the lost empire of a thousand years prior. The Great Sith War devastated the galaxy once again, but the Sith Empire was not restored.

An intelligent and charismatic renegade Jedi Master, Phanius was known for the disturbing tone of his philosophy, which included elements of moral relativism and solipsism, possibly echoed in certain aspects by the much later Potentium. Phanius abandoned his oath and left the Order to pursue prohibited teachings, becoming one of the first of what would eventually become know as the Lost Twenty. He secretly united the numerous Sith clans, possibly, left over from the Old Sith Wars or the post-Cold War Sith Empire and founded the New Sith Empire. In an event known as the Fourth Great Schism, fifty Jedi Knights soon followed him and pledged themselves to his new Sith Order and to the Dark Side of the Force. The newly rechristened Darth Ruin and his followers initiated the New Sith Wars against the Jedi, but Ruin's Sith Order quickly disintegrated. Ruin was single-minded and his ambitions led to hatred and betrayal by his followers, who killed him.

Exar Kun learned the legend of Nadd. Abandoning his Master Vodo-Siosk Baas and the Jedi way, Exar Kun journeyed to Onderon for dark side knowledge. Getting no help from the Jedi there, Exar went to Dxun searching for Nadd's new tomb. There he burned through the Mandalorian iron and entered the tomb, discovering it's many Sith artifacts and the spirit of Freedon Nadd. The broken tomb could no longer trap the ancient spirit, and Nadd once again saw his chance. He commanded Exar to uncover two Sith scrolls, which would guide the young Jedi to Korriban.On Korriban, Nadd's spirit approached Exar and tricked him to trap himself. Nadd claimed to the injured Kun that only the dark side of the Force could save him. Refusing to join the dark side, Exar's mind called for his Master. When Master Vodo received the call, the Jedi Master meditated with the light, trying to shield Exar from the dark side influence. Freedon Nadd detected Vodo's interference, and in a masterful display of his dark power, Nadd attacked Vodo from light years away. Vodo suffered no injury, but was not able to help his apprentice anymore.Receiving no help from his Master, Exar pledged himself to the dark side, and was healed by Nadd's dark power. Nadd then led Exar to the resting place of the ancient Dark Lords, unleashing guardian beasts to attack Kun while Nadd himself took away Kun's lightsaber. In order to survive, Exar Kun called upon the power of anger and slaughtered the beasts, thus gaining the approval of the ancient Sith spirits in the tomb.

Naga Sadow was a male Sith Lord, and renowned dark side magician during the days of the first Sith Empire. A native member of the Sith species of the planet Ziost, Sadow rose to prominence in the final days of the Sith Golden Age, when Marka Ragnos, the reigning Dark Lord of the Sith, passed away, leaving the mantle of Dark Lord vacant. During the Ragnos' funeral, Sadow engaged in a duel with rival Sith Lord Ludo Kressh for Ragnos' title, only to have their contest ended by the spectre of the deceased Dark Lord himself. After a brief admonition, the ghost departed while issuing a warning to both Sadow and Kressh, stating that the fate of the Sith Empire hung on the balance of their decision on how to proceed with leadership of the Sith people.

Ben Skywalker activated and piloted a Sith Meditation Sphere to escape Ziost during the Second Corellian Insurrection. The ship was self-aware and guided Ben with voices over the course of many days. The ship had formerly been piloted by a female of the original Sith species. The ship was armed with a ventral laser cannon and a dorsal magnetic accelerator. Ben also stated that the Meditation Sphere seems to have whatever weapons you want. Once Ben had returned to the Anakin Solo with the Meditation Sphere, Jacen Solo gave the ship to Lumiya.

Naga Sadow, meeting with nine other Sith Lords on Ziost, the central world of the Sith Empire, discussed the Daragon's ultimate fate. Ludo Kressh demanded that they be killed immediately, citing that they would return to the Republic, which would attack with a large military force. As was usually the case between the two, Naga Sadow (along with his former master Simus) passionately disagreed with Kressh, outlining the possibilities of keeping them as prisoners to his fellow Sith. Precisely what he said at that point is unknown, though it apparently won over many of those present. Sadow later sent a group of his loyal Massassi guards to the impound dock of Ziost, where the Daragons' ship, the Starbreaker 12, was being held, to steal a distinct Republic blaster from the cargo hold. He gathered tens, possibly hundreds, of his Massassi and infiltrated the Ziost prison, freeing the Daragons, killing anyone in their way, including Sadow's former mentor Simus. After purposefully leaving the Republic blaster behind, Naga took the Daragons to his private fortress on Khar Shian, the moon of Khar Delba. Naga Sadow returned to Ziost to find a meeting underway regarding the recent attack. The other Sith Lords, most of all Ludo Kressh, were angered by the apparent Republic rescue of Gav and Jori Daragon, and Sadow, pretending to be shocked at the death of Simus, insisted that they must retaliate against the Republic. Further, he insisted that he be crowned the new Dark Lord of the Sith, promising to not falter in the face of the "new threat." He was unanimously (with the exception of Ludo Kressh) given this title, and was soon given the ceremonial circular mark on his forehead to signify this.

Leading the Sith forces from his personal meditation sphere, Sadow gave command of his flagship to Gav Daragon, and the Sith launched attacks against various unsuspecting Republic worlds. However, Sadow was betrayed by Gav when he fired upon the Dark Lord's sphere and interrupted his meditations, causing the illusions he had been projecting to fade. The tide of battle immediately turned in favor of the Republic as the bulk of Sadow's forces simply disappeared, and the war ultimately lost to the invaders. His fleet in shambles, Sadow then fled back to Sith space, where he engaged in a final battle with Ludo Kressh, one that resulted in the latter's death. Under the forces of Empress Teta, the Republic followed Sadow to his Empire, in an attempt to destroy the remaining Sith, once and for all. Sadow fled to Yavin 4 with his remaining Massassi warriors, where he hoped to rebuild the Empire. Failing in his goal, Sadow entered a Sith sarcophagus with hopes that he would be able to one day resurrect his lost Empire. The Sith Meditation Sphere was an ancient warship used by the Sith Empire for battle meditation. Characteristics Meditation spheres were spherical attack craft ten meters in diameter. They resembled giant, floating eyeballs with batlike wings. At the heart of the mediation sphere used by Naga Sadow was the Sith Lord's meditation chamber. The chamber had jagged walls that sloped inwards and at the center the Sith Lord would crouch and focus his dark side powers that allowed him to amplify his intensions and send them out over great distances to control his armies and ensure victory for his forces. In his chamber he was able to see the whole galaxy laid out and monitor the progress of his minions. A giant holoscreen on the wall displayed more detailed tactical information. History Naga Sadow constructed his sphere on the secret world of Khar Shian. The vessel was destroyed at the Battle of Primus Goluud during the Great Hyperspace War in 5,000 BBY.

Master Vodo-Siosk Baas was greatly displeased upon learning of his pupil's meddling; the knowledge of the dark side was dangerous in the hands of such an unpredictable mind. Indeed, it was becoming apparent to Baas that Kun's supreme pride and ambition was beginning to consume him; Kun was convinced that he could learn to master the dark side, learning its powers and techniques while remaining uncorrupted, and return to teach the Jedi Order his new discoveries. Baas tried to save his pupil, warning him to heed his lessons and to turn away from the allure of the dark side, but his pupil disregarded his instructions. Abandoning his master, Kun declared himself a Jedi Knight. Kun then followed his curiosity and traveled to the war-torn planet of Onderon. There, he learned of a tomb captured by the Jedi at the end of the Naddist Uprising that housed the remains of an ancient Sith Lord, Freedon Nadd. The Jedi had sealed it shut with Mandalorian iron and secreted it in a remote section of the moon Dxun. However these barriers were insufficient to stop the young Jedi. Kun made his way to the dark glade. There, the spirit of the long-deceased Sith Lord appeared to Kun and, using the young Jedi's curiosity and ambition to his advantage, Nadd instructed Kun to continue his quest to the infamous Sith tomb-world of Korriban. Kun agreed, plunging himself further into the depths of the dark side.

Zannah, known as Rain in her childhood, was a Human female from the planet Somov Rit, and was the cousin of males Root, Tomcat (Darovit) and Bug (Hardin). She was initially recruited by Jedi Scout Torr Snapit to fight for the Army of Light during the Ruusan campaign of the New Sith Wars. However, upon her arrival on Ruusan, Rain was separated from her cousins during a Sith attack and was presumed killed. Unbeknownst to the Jedi, Rain was saved and befriended by the Bouncer Laa. When the Dark Lords of Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness unleashed a planet wide Force storm during the Sixth Battle of Ruusan, Rain survived by instinctively enveloping herself and Laa with a bubble with the Force. Unfortunately, when she watched Laa being killed haplessly by Jedi scouts, she was so stricken with anger that she killed them, unwittingly giving in to the dark side to do so. Rain's display of rage attracted the attention of the war's only surviving Dark Lord, Darth Bane, who decided to take the young girl as the first and only apprentice in his fledgling Order of the Sith Lords. Rain cast away the handle of her youth, and became Darth Zannah.

Darth Caedus (pronounced /kie'duss/), born Jacen Solo, was the eldest son of Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, the younger twin of Jaina Solo and the older brother of Anakin Solo. After his aunt Mara Jade Skywalker's failed assassination attempt on his life and her subsequent death at Jacen's hands, Jacen declared himself Darth Caedus, Dark Lord of the Sith, bringing the Skywalker legacy full circle. He later replaced Ben Skywalker as his apprentice with Tahiri Veila following the Second Battle of Fondor and her murder of Gilad Pellaeon. In 41 ABY, Caedus was killed by his twin sister during the Battle of Shedu Maad. As his sister brought her lightsaber down on him he disengaged his, giving his life in order to warn Tenel Ka through the Force of an incoming nanovirus attack. After his death Jaina believed that her brother had succeeded; he had brought peace to the galaxy, sacrificing his own life and reputation to do so.

The revitalized Andeddu mocked Wyyrlok and refused to share his intellect with the Chagrian, professing that true Sith were above sharing their power. He assaulted Wyyrlok with Force lightning, but the Chagrian absorbed the attack while professing his own capabilities. Realizing that his opponent would not be so easily bested, Andeddu challenged him to a duel of Force abilities, one which Wyyrlok accepted. The Dark Lord conjured illusions of lava and flame to overwhelm his opponent, but they were turned against him when Wyyrlok discovered that Andeddu's strength was only within his mind. He was continually berated by Wyyrlok, who believed that Andeddu deserved none of his accumulated wisdom for hiding from his adversaries. Andeddu watched in horror as Wyyrlok turned the flames against his precious books and scrolls, then ultimately on him. Consumed by his own fears, Darth Andeddu was defeated by what he perceived as real, and died a second death at the hands of Darth Wyyrlok. The destruction of Andeddu's hoard had only been a ruse by his opponent, however; everything remained intact, and after some time studying them, Wyyrlok concluded that none of the material contained anything useful for his purposes. He collected several of the ancient texts before leaving Andeddu's fortress for good, in search of other means by which he could save Darth Krayt.

Asajj Ventress was a female Rattataki Dark Jedi and arguably the most dangerous of Count Dooku's Dark Acolytes. In actual fact, Ventress was trained as a Jedi, while a child on her home world of Rattatak, under the tutelage of Jedi Knight Ky Narec. However, after Narec was slain, Ventress gave into her anger and began walking the path of the dark side; taking up the lightsaber of her dead master, she trained herself in the Niman/Jar'Kai style of lightsaber combat, before slaying all the warlords on Rattatak and installing herself as its ruler. Eventually, Ventress's actions came to the attention of Count Dooku, and after a test of her abilities, she became a commander in the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the Clone Wars, Ventress became one of the most feared beings in the galaxy, notorious for her defeat of several Jedi. As the war continued, Ventress became the bitter enemy of both Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his former mentor, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, the latter of which was convinced that she could be redeemed. During Kenobi's mission to return Ventress to the light, she received a life-threatening wound from Skywalker, faked her death and disappeared into the unknown; wishing to be free of the Jedi, the war and Count Dooku.

Asajj Ventress hailed from the barbaric planet of Rattatak. Her parents were local warlords who had been assembling a large army on Rattatak's southern hemisphere to challenge another warlord, Osika Kirske, when Ventress was a child. They were defeated and killed by a coalition of other warlords under Kirske. Ventress, alone on a harsh, unforgiving world, would have died had it not been for the timely arrival of a Jedi Knight named Ky Narec. Narec had become stranded upon Rattatak, and sensed Ventress's connection to the Force. Although Narec was cut off from the rest of the Jedi Order, he decided to train Ventress as his Padawan. The two Jedi quickly became favored by the people, except for those who feared the power the two Jedi wielded. Tragically, Narec was killed by Osika Kirske before Ventress could learn mastery over her emotions. Ventress soon became a force of authority on her lawless home world, defeating most of the remaining twelve Rattataki warlords and getting her revenge on Kirske. When Narec died, she had tattooed her hairless head and left her girlhood behind. Her skull was striped with twelve marks, one for each of the twelve warlords she had killed after swearing their deaths. Ventress, now in control of the land once held by the warlords who had murdered her Master, had a castle built on Rattatak, from where she controlled her new kingdom. Ventress kept Narec's lightsaber as a memento of the good times with her mentor, and developed a hatred of the Jedi, who she believed had abandoned Narec. Her bitterness and lust for revenge sent Ventress spiraling down the path of the dark side.

At some point in Cognus' life, she took on an apprentice of her own, the three-eyed mutant[3] human[4] Darth Millennial. Cognus, however, was angered by the beliefs of her apprentice, which ran contradictory to Darth Bane's teachings, and drove him away. Millennial, who considered the Rule of Two far too restrictive, fled to the world of Dromund Kaas, where he established the Dark Force religion, while Cognus stayed on the path set forth by Bane and took on a new apprentice to continue his line.

Darth Krayt ruled the galaxy with an iron fist for seven years before the alliance between Roan Fel and Galactic Alliance admiral Gar Stazi threatened his rule. Furthermore, Krayt discovered the existence and survival of a Skywalker: Cade. Krayt feared that with these deteriorating conditions and his bad health would lead to his demise before his dream was finished, and sent about the hunt for Cade Skywalker. However, during a skirmish on Had Abbadon, Krayt was stabbed and sent hurtling off a cliff. The Sith Lord's powers proved strong, however, when they saved his life. Darth Krayt was then approached by Darth Wyyrlok (his most trusted advisor) who murdered Krayt, believing the Dread Lord would lead to the Sith Order's destruction.

A'Sharad Hett eventually made his way back to his homeworld of Tatooine where he vowed to wage a private war against the new Galactic Empire. However, after a confrontation with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, he was exiled from Tatooine and later discovered that it was Anakin Skywalker who became the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who had murdered the Jedi Order. A'Sharad blamed himself for the destruction of the Jedi Order and became a bounty hunter. During one of his missions, he found himself on Korriban, where he trained as a Sith by Dark Lord XoXaan. Hett eventually fell to the dark side after capture and torture by the Yuuzhan Vong and soon proclaimed himself Dread Lord and Dark Lord of the Sith, taking the name "Darth Krayt". As Krayt, he became the founder and leader of the One Sith. As Krayt, he rebuilt the Sith Order and kept its existence hidden from the Jedi by cloaking their presence on Korriban. To survive, Krayt spent many years in stasis before reemerging to form an alliance with Moff Nyna Calixte and to spark the Sith-Imperial War that led to the destruction of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. At the climax of the war, Krayt deposed Emperor Roan Fel and brought about the murder of the current Jedi Order.

DARTH MAUL Lord of the Sith (43-32 bby). Darth Maul was a weapon forged by the hateful energies of the dark side to ensure the victory of the Sith over the Jedi order. A creature of pure evil, Maul had no personality beyond his ultimate devotion to his master, Darth Sidious. His goal was singular -- to exact vengeance upon the Jedi for the decimation of the Sith ranks. Born on Iridonia, his training was harsh and cruel. Maul's training culminated with one final challenge: a survival test on a savage planet where he was ultimately forced to face his own master in a duel. Only when Maul's turn to the Dark Side was complete and he was willing to kill his own master was he deemed worthy of becoming a Sith Lord. While Qui-Gon Jinn was escorting the fugitive Queen Amidala from Tatooine to Coruscant, Darth Maul swept down from above, lunging at Qui-Gon from his rocketing Sith speeder. Maul's attack was relentless; he hammered down lightsaber strikes against the accomplished Jedi Master, forcing him back time and again. It was only the timely interception of Qui-Gon by the Queen's Royal Starship that spared him. Qui-Gon was utterly surprised and unprepared for such an attack. The Sith, everyone knew, were extinct, disappeared from the galaxy for a millennium. Yet the evidence was there -- a dark attacker, trained in the Jedi arts, brandishing a lightsaber no less. Maul was dispatched by Darth Sidious to track down the Queen, a feat he accomplished through mysterious yet effective means. Traveling aboard his sleek Sith Infiltrator, Maul scouted the galaxy for the missing monarch, and reported his findings to his master.

Darth Nihilus was a Force-sensitive Human male who lived during the Dark Wars. He lost everything during the Mandalorian Wars, surviving the activation of the Mass Shadow Generator at the Battle of Malachor V. The experience of the mass shadows made him "hunger" for Force energy, and the affliction began to ravage his body. In his pain he became a wound in the Force and was found by a seeker of such things, Darth Traya, who told him that she could teach him to feed his hunger. Thought dead to the entire galaxy, Revan survived, through the efforts of Bastila Shan, although his mind was severely damaged. Unable to restore the Dark Lord's memories, the Jedi Council repaired what they could of his damaged mind, programming a new identity into Revan, one loyal to the Republic. In the year that followed, Revan and a company of followers searched the galaxy for the source of Malak's vast fleet. Despite eventually learning of his previous identity, Revan rejected the evil of his past, defeated Malak and ended the very war he had begun. A year later, Revan once again departed for the Unknown Regions. A former Jedi Master of Revan's, Kreia, believed that Darth Revan's brutally efficient invasion of the galaxy had been part of a complex plan to secure the Republic from a long-hidden unknown threat and suggested that Revan had departed on a solitary quest to defeat it once and for all.

Darth Sion Darth Nihilus and Visas Marr

Together, the three formed a triumvirate with Traya at its head and her other apprentice, Darth Sion, as the third. The trio chose individual names for themselves, and Nihilus became the Lord of Hunger. The apprentices grew in strength during their training and eventually overpowered their Master. Sion beat Traya, with Nihilus right behind him, before they exiled her and the two combined their powers to sever her ties to the Force. Nihilus's affliction developed to the point where he was forced to call upon his dark powers and encase his spirit within his mask and armor to stay alive. Nihilus and Sion then became the main perpetrators of the First Jedi Purge, causing the virtual extinction of the Jedi Order.
